Visits

Log places you've been, rate them loved/fine/disliked, and rank them head-to-head.

A visit is the atomic unit of yumo's social layer — a record that you've been to a place, how you felt about it, and anything you want to share about the experience.

Logging a visit

From any place drawer (opened from discover, a friend's profile, the map, or search) tap Log visit. You'll pick:

  • Tier (required) — loved, fine, or disliked.
  • Visited at — date of the visit (defaults to today).
  • Note — up to 500 characters of free text.
  • Tags — up to 10 short tags.
  • Privacy — public, followers, or private. Defaults to your profile's default visit privacy.
  • Photos / video — attach media captured on the trip.

Each user can have at most one visit per place. Re-opening a place you've already logged lets you edit the existing visit rather than creating a duplicate.

The tier system

The three tiers are intentionally coarse:

  • Loved — would go back, would recommend.
  • Fine — no strong feelings either way.
  • Disliked — wouldn't go back.

Tiers are the primary signal that feeds into discover rankings and feed surfacing.

Ranking sessions

After you log a visit, yumo may walk you through a short ranking session — pairwise comparisons against other visits in the same tier and category. Each choice produces a relative score, so your profile's visit grid can sort best-first within each tier rather than by logging order.

A ranking session has three answers per comparison:

  • Subject better
  • Pivot better
  • Skipped

Skipped comparisons don't count toward scoring. When the session completes, the subject's score and sort key are locked in.

You can rank again later from the visit detail sheet if your opinion changes.

Attachments

Each visit can carry up to several photos or short videos. Captions are optional and can be edited or cleared at any time. Attachments inherit the visit's privacy setting.

Reactions & comments

Any public visit (yours or someone else's) can be:

  • Liked — a one-tap emoji reaction.
  • Commented on — text comments up to 4000 characters, optionally with a short voice note (≤60s).

Only the comment author (or the visit owner) can delete a comment. Visit owners can delete any reaction or comment on their own visits.

Editing & deleting

From the visit detail sheet you can:

  • Change tier, date, note, tags, or privacy.
  • Remove or caption attachments individually.
  • Delete the visit entirely — this cascades to reactions, comments, and attachments.
