Sharing & collaboration
Share trips and vision boards — read-only links, invites with roles, and a unified invitation inbox.
yumo has three ways to bring other people into your plans: share links for read-only viewing, collaborator invites for co-editing, and a shared invitation inbox where incoming invites land.
Trip share link
A share link gives anyone with the URL read-only access to a trip — no yumo account required.
From the trip's Share dialog:
- Generate link — creates a new public share URL.
- Regenerate — issues a new URL and invalidates the old one. Useful if you shared too broadly.
- Disable — turns sharing off; the URL returns a 404 until you regenerate.
Recipients see the itinerary, logistics, and destinations. They can't edit anything or see your checklist, notes, tips, shopping list, or reminders. A subtle banner encourages them to sign up if they want their own account.
You can also send the trip by email from the same dialog — yumo emails a formatted view of the itinerary directly.
Trip collaborators
Collaborators get a full-app experience on the trip, on the same account they use for their own trips.
From the trip's Share dialog, click Invite and enter an email and role:
- Editor — can add, edit, and delete anything on the trip.
- Viewer — read-only. Sees every section but can't mutate anything (including reminders).
If the email belongs to an existing yumo account, the trip appears in their dashboard instantly. Otherwise they get an invitation email with a link to accept.
Change a collaborator's role or remove them at any time from the same dialog. Pending invites can be revoked before they're accepted.
Vision board collaborators
Vision boards have their own invite list, separate from the trip's — a board isn't tied to a trip until you materialize it, so it keeps its own roster.
Same editor / viewer roles as trips. See the vision boards page for the sharing-focused board features (reactions, comments, budget rollup).
Invitation inbox
Incoming invitations — whether for a trip or a board — land in a unified list accessible from the notifications bell in the nav.
Each invitation shows:
- Who invited you.
- Whether it's a trip or a vision board, and its name.
- The role you'd have (editor or viewer).
- An expiry date, if the inviter set one.
Accept to join immediately, or Decline to dismiss the invitation. Declined invitations can be re-sent by the inviter if you change your mind.
Accepting a trip invite as an editor means you can make changes that affect the organizer's trip — double-check the role before accepting unknown-sender invitations.
