Reminders
Stay on top of time-sensitive tasks with reminders tied to trip dates, events, flights, or hotels.
Reminders nudge you before something time-sensitive — check in for a flight, confirm a dinner, pack a passport. Each reminder fires once, via email or SMS, at a time you choose.
Open the Reminders tab on any trip to see what's scheduled and add new ones.
Two ways to schedule
Reminders can be scheduled in one of two modes:
- Relative to an anchor — "60 minutes before flight AA 12", "1 day before trip start", "30 minutes before the Borghese reservation". The fire time recomputes automatically if you edit the underlying event.
- Absolute datetime — a specific moment you pick, e.g. April 27 at 9am. Independent of any trip content.
Relative mode is what you want most of the time. It stays accurate if the anchor moves.
Anchors
When you pick relative mode, yumo offers a dropdown of valid anchors for that trip:
- Trip start — the trip's start date (no anchor id needed).
- Each itinerary event with a resolvable time.
- Each flight, hotel, or transport with a scheduled time.
Pick the anchor, then enter how many minutes before (or after, with a negative offset) you want to be reminded.
Delivery
Reminders are delivered via:
- Email (default) — to the email on your account. Includes a click-to-dismiss link so you can clear it without opening the app.
- SMS — requires a phone number on your account. Best for last-minute alerts where you want a pushy nudge.
Email is the safer default; SMS skips the inbox but needs a verified phone number.
Managing reminders
From the reminders list you can:
- Edit — change the title, mode, anchor, offset, or delivery channel.
- Dismiss — mark as dismissed so it won't fire. Useful when plans change but you want a record.
- Delete — permanently remove. Use this for reminders that were added by mistake.
Reminders are listed in fire-time order and show their current status: pending, sent, or dismissed.
Reminders respect collaborator roles: trip viewers see reminders but can't add, edit, or delete them. Editors and the owner can manage everything.
